MetroTex Announces New CEO, Janet Kane

The MetroTex Executive Committee is pleased to announce that Janet L. Kane has been named the new Chief Executive Officer of the MetroTex Association of REALTORS. Kane currently serves as CEO of SouthEast Valley Regional Association of REALTORS (SEVRAR) in Mesa, Arizona.

Kane was the choice of the MetroTex Executive Committee and CEO Search Committee after an extensive national search. She succeeds Rich Thomas, who is retiring after serving 23 years as MetroTex CEO.

Kane has served the REALTOR Community for 26 years beginning with the Washington Association of REALTORS (WR) in 1991. With WR she played many roles, most notably as Chief Operating Officer. Kane then accepted the CEO position with SEVRAR in 2012.”Joining the MetroTex team is a real honor,” said Kane. “I am excited for the opportunity to work with such a talented staff and dedicated group of volunteers.”

The MetroTex Executive Committee appointed a diverse 8-member search committee in November 2017 to work with executive search advisor Jerry Matthews to recruit candidates for the CEO position.

“Janet’s unique experience at both the state and local levels of association management brings the diversity and right mix of skills we were looking for to lead MetroTex into the future,” said CEO Search Committee Chair Cathy Mitchell.

Kane will begin her role as MetroTex CEO on April 9, 2018.
