New Broker Attribution Field Available

On November 11, 2021, the NAR Board of Directors approved the following policy:

Internet Data Exchange (IDX) Policy Statement 7.58 and VOW Policy Statement 7.91: IDX and Vow Broker Attribution. Require that participants’ IDX displays must identify the listing firm and an email or phone number provided by listing participant in a reasonably prominent location and in a readily visible color and typeface not smaller than the median used in the display of listing data. The same standard would also apply to VOWs but is optional.

In order to comply with the NAR policy, NTREIS will be adding a new field to accommodate the Broker Attribution field per NAR policy change.

Broker attribution will be published on September 22, 2022. The attribution contact for each office can be setup under Input – Modify Office – Attribution Contact:

We are populating all offices with the default of “Office phone”. Brokers may select one of the other options. If a Broker wishes to allow an agent to override the office selection on each listing, they would check the “Can Agent Override” box to allow.

On an individual listing in the Agent/Office tab, you will see the new fields for Attribution Contact:

If the Broker has allowed “Agent Override”, the agent can type in an alternate phone or email in the “Override” box – that information will then populate the Listing Contact (overriding the office default).

We will notify our data vendors of this change to the data, but delay the release date until October 3rd, so Brokers will have an opportunity to change their selection, if they wish, before the data is included in the data feeds.
