Homeownership Matters, Presented by Real Talk

Alexia Smokler (NAR) – Is the Senior Policy Representative for Fair Housing at the National Association of REALTORS® (NAR). She communicates NAR’s positions on fair housing to Congress and federal agencies and provides subject-matter expertise to NAR training, research, and publications. Before joining NAR, she worked in fair housing enforcement at HUD, on a Congressional staff, and with nonprofit civil rights organizations.

Alexia joins the broadcast to provide valuable information and education on the history of fair housing, how NAR has evolved in its efforts to address those issues, as well as the NAR’s response to the Newsday investigation.

Our second session features Association Presidents from NAHREP, NAREB, and VAREP, each of which will share more about their association’s mission and scope of work.
