Excited for the in-person National Association of REALTORS® Conference in beautiful San Diego? As a way to help you enjoy the convention as much as possible we are inviting you to a virtual meeting on November 4, 2021 at 9:00am. For those of you that will be first time attendees we will have some experienced members that can you give advice on what they have found beneficial.
Know before you go...
Safety First! Before you leave home…
Everyone in attendance must:
- Provide proof of vaccination (any WHO-approved vaccine accepted if you have had both doses of a two-shot vaccine and 14 days have passed since last inoculation) OR proof of a negative COVID test taken no more than 72 hours before arrival.
- Upload documentation through the verification link.
Note: If an attendee tested positive for COVID-19 no more than 90 days prior to arrival in San Diego, they will be required to upload their dated positive result to the verification link.
- Wear masks indoors at all times, regardless of vaccination status, except when actively eating or drinking. Masks are required on all Shuttle Buses. Gaiters, bandanas, face shields, and valve masks are not acceptable.
- Complete a daily health questionnaire while at the event via a link on the event app.
If you are a committee member check the meeting schedule to determine when you’ll need to arrive to attend Committee Meetings.
MetroTex NAR Directors please note the Reimbursement Policies listed below, and which can be found in the MetroTex Policy Manual to help guide your selection of hotels, airfare and various expenses.
1st Port of Call Registration Table…
Be sure to stop by the designated NAR registration area. At registration, you’ll pick up your name badge, director ribbon as applicable, event tickets and conference schedule. Feel free to ask questions or purchase additional tickets for lunches, special events, etc. Also – Obtain a wristband in the convention center lobby or NAR Registration in the Sails Pavilion by providing verification of the proof above. The wristband will be required to pick up your badge at the NAR Registration counters in the Sails Pavilion. Each attendee must individually get their wristband and badge, no group pickup allowed. Guests attending ticketed events, like Inaugural or International Night Out, must also get a wristband. The wristband may not be removed and must be worn throughout the entire conference.
Chart your course…
Read through the information you receive at registration and chart your course for the days to follow. There are a mix of classes, informational sessions, networking opportunities, and meetings! You won’t be able to attend everything, so find your passion and enjoy your conference!
If you are a NAR Director...
Attendance Expectations: MetroTex reimbursement is subject to your attendance at the various meetings and events expected of a NAR Director as follows, unless you serve as a Committee member and have a conflicting Committee meeting:
- General Session (Replaces the former 360 Meeting) – Friday, Nov. 12th, 9:00am – 10:00am, San Diego Convention Center, Hall F-H, Ground Level
- Mega Association Leadership Forum – Friday, Nov. 12th, 1:00pm – 2:05pm, Marriott Marquis San Diego Marina, Grand Salon 3, Lobby Level
- Texas REALTORS® Pre-Caucus Meeting/Breakfast* – Sunday, Nov. 14th, 8am – 10am, Manchester Grand Hyatt Hotel, 1 Market Place *This meeting is only open to the 2021 NAR Directors
- Region 10 Caucus – Sunday, Nov. 14th, 4:30pm – 5:30pm, Manchester Grand Hyatt, Grand Hall D, Lobby Level
- Board of Director Meeting, Monday, Nov. 15, 8:30am – 12:00pm, Manchester Grand Hyatt, Seaport Ballroom, Second Floor
Committee meetings: Attend any or all of the committee meetings that capture your attention. While attending committee meetings, you are welcome to sit anywhere on the perimeter, as table seating is reserved for committee members. (Most Forums are open seating.) Feel free to raise your hand to make a comment, as the Chairs often recognize and welcome visitor input. If a vote is taken, only Committee members may vote!
Board of Directors meeting…Do I have to credentialize if I’m a NAR Director?
YES! If you are a NAR Director, your most important role is to check-in at the “credentials tables” prior to the start of the Board of Directors meeting. Take notice of the cut-off time for credentialing, as those attempting to credentialize after the cut-off time WILL NOT be allowed to do so. At the desk you’ll receive your Agenda packet, as well as your electronic voting tool. Please do NOT leave this unattended.
Reminder: Your duty as a NAR Director is to vote on the best behalf of the National Association of REALTORS®. Listen with an open mind, consider motions thoughtfully, and vote as your conscience guides you.
It’s a Wrap! Expense Reimbursement: MetroTex will reimburse NAR Directors based on the number of days you attend. (Directors are budgeted for 5 nights. Additional evenings will be at your own expense.) This stipend is not meant to cover 100% of your costs, but to acknowledge the value of your time and in appreciation for your involvement. (The total does include your travel, hotel, and meals.)
MetroTex has made it easy for you to organize and account for essential information necessary to receive your travel reimbursement. Inc. RPAC Major Investor Events & Receptions… If you are a Major Investor, you should have received a special invitation for the RPAC Major Investor events taking place during the conference. Be sure to wear your 2021 pin!

Expense reimbursement policy
The MetroTex travel reimbursement process is initiated with the submission of a travel expense report through the SAP Concur App and the Concur Desktop reporting via www.concursolutions.com. You will receive account credentials from our Accounting Department in order to use these tools. They are designed to assist you in organizing and accounting for essential information necessary to receive reimbursement. The SAP Concur app allows for you to take pictures of your receipts. These pictures will download automatically to your Concur Solutions account.
Information such as time, place, and business purpose of the meeting attended, type of expense, related cost, and the party to be reimbursed are required and will be notated through the Concur Solutions Desktop software. All travel expense reimbursement requests will be completed and submitted online through the using the Concur Solutions Desktop software.
Detailed and itemized receipts and complete information must be submitted in order to receive reimbursement. All expenses must be submitted within 30 days of the completed trip. Those expenses submitted after 30 days, under special circumstances, may be approved. Except for special circumstances, no expenses will be reimbursed if submitted more than 60 days after the expense is incurred.
