A Bright Future for Funding, Rents, and Occupancy Rates

MetroTex Association of REALTORS® and the Texas Real Estate Research Center at Texas A&M have released their pilot State of the Commercial Market Report for Q1 2023, and local commercial real estate agents are feeling optimistic about the next 12 months.

While the relatively small survey sample size means results were not yet statistically significant in some categories, some interesting points still arise from the survey:

• 77% of respondents believe the commercial market is similar or better than it was a year ago
• 67% of respondents believe the commercial market will improve in the next 12 months, and 21% expect it will remain about the same
• Local commercial agents are more optimistic than agents nationwide, according to National Real Estate Roundtable

The State of the Commercial Market Report surveys members of MetroTex Association of REALTORS® and other local real estate agents who have expressed an interest in commercial business to MetroTex. The survey will be conducted quarterly going forward, with results published after the close of each quarter.
