Agent Changing Offices? Don’t Forget Their Transactions and Listings

When an agent or broker moves to another office, their TransactionDesk transactions and MLS listings do not automatically move with them. This applies even when they are transferring to another branch of the same brokerage.

Here’s how to restore access and move everything to the correct office.

Transfer TransactionDesk Files

When an agent changes offices, their TransactionDesk transactions are automatically reassigned to a super-user in the original office. The agent will no longer be able to access those files until they are transferred.

To reassign them:

  1. Open TransactionDesk.
  2. Go to Broker Tools.
  3. Select Transaction Transfer.
  4. Choose the appropriate option:
    • Transfer to Me
    • Transfer to Previous Agent
    • Transfer to Another Agent

Transfer MLS Listings

MLS listings also remain under the original office and must be moved separately.

Moving to a Different Brokerage

If the agent is transferring to an office with a different broker, submit a Listing Transfer Request Form signed by both the former and new brokers. This confirms that all parties approve moving the listings to the new brokerage.

Moving to Another Branch of the Same Brokerage

If the agent is moving between branch offices under the same broker, a broker, office manager, or head manager can update the listing directly in MLS:

  1. Go to the Input tab.
  2. Enter the MLS number in the Listing ID – Edit field.
  3. Select Broker Office Change.
  4. Enter the new office ID in the List Office MLSID field.
  5. Click Submit Property.

Completing both steps helps ensure the agent regains access to their active files and listings without unnecessary delays.
