How to File an MLS Complaint
At MetroTex, maintaining accurate and reliable MLS data is a top priority. MLS compliance plays a critical role in ensuring that the information our members rely on is current, consistent, and trustworthy.
Please note that MetroTex no longer uses CasePro to report MLS violations. Additionally, reports related to MetroTex Key Services or alleged showing violations may not be submitted anonymously.
If you believe an MLS participant or subscriber has violated NTREIS MLS Rules or MetroTex Key Services Rules, we invite you to submit a detailed report by emailing violations@metrotex.com. To help us review the matter efficiently, please include the following information:
- Name of the REALTOR® involved
- License number
- Brokerage name
- MLS number and/or property address related to the concern
- The specific MLS or Key Services rule you believe was violated
- A brief description of what occurred, including relevant dates
- Any supporting documentation (e.g., photos of signage, screenshots of email marketing, lockbox records, etc.)
MLS Clear Cooperation Policy
The MLS Clear Cooperation Policy states:
“7.01 Within one (1) business day of marketing a property to the public, the listing broker must submit the listing to the MLS for cooperation with other MLS participants. Public marketing includes, but is not limited to, flyers displayed in windows, yard signs, digital marketing on public facing websites, brokerage website displays (including IDX and VOW), digital communications marketing (email blasts), multi-brokerage listing sharing networks, and applications available to the general public.”
For the purposes of the Clear Cooperation Policy, the National Association of REALTORS® (NAR) defines “business days” as excluding Saturdays, Sundays, and recognized federal and state holidays. The NAR MLS Advisory Board revised the policy timeframe to address enforcement concerns and to provide added flexibility in situations where submitting a listing within the service may present challenges. To ensure consistency across all REALTOR® association MLSs, the established and approved timeframe is one (1) business day.
Clear Cooperation complaints may be submitted anonymously. MetroTex does not disclose the identity of the individual submitting a Clear Cooperation complaint and will remove email addresses, contact information, and identifying signature details from the body of the complaint upon receipt.
If you choose to submit a Clear Cooperation complaint anonymously, please be mindful that it is your responsibility to review and remove any information that could identify you as the complainant. MetroTex MLS and staff are not responsible for redacting or removing identifying information contained within any supporting documentation submitted with the complaint.
