In Memoriam: Mark Wolfe

It is with great sadness that we are sharing the passing of MetroTex Past President Mark Wolfe.

Mark received many professional honors in recognition of his leadership, including the Easterwood Cup Award as the Broker/Manager/Executive of the Year from the Greater Dallas Association of REALTORS®, where he served as president in 2004.

During his tenure as president, Mark played a pivotal role in the merger of Greater Dallas, Irving/Las Colinas, and Northeast Tarrant County Associations of REALTORS® into one association, the MetroTex Association of REALTORS®.

Mark and other key North Texas brokers were the masterminds behind a unified MLS, NTREIS, creating consistent data standards and a single, centralized listings system.

He and his wife, Kay, founded RE/MAX DFW Associates in 1983. It was initially staffed by Mark as broker/president and Kay as vice president/receptionist. Over time the company grew to five offices and, at its peak, engaged more than 300 agents.

He served as mayor and city councilman in Coppell from 1985 to 1993. The success of the city of Coppell is due, in significant part, because of Mark’s efforts, strategy, and leadership.
