MetroTex Association of REALTORS® is proud to share some exciting national recognition with our members. Five MetroTex leaders and staff members have been named 2026 RISMedia Real Estate Newsmakers, an honor that spotlights professionals who demonstrated exceptional leadership, resilience and innovation during one of the most transformative years in real estate.
Now in its ninth year, RISMedia’s Real Estate Newsmakers program recognizes more than 300 industry leaders across the country, brokers, executives, educators and advocates, who not only navigated the challenges of 2025’s shifting market, but helped shape the future of real estate through service, collaboration and forward-thinking leadership.
MetroTex honorees were recognized across multiple categories, reflecting the depth and breadth of leadership within our association.

Johnny Mowad — MetroTex Association of REALTORS®
As 2025 president, Johnny Mowad led the historic merger of MetroTex and the Collin County Area REALTORS®, creating the largest REALTOR® association in North Texas and the largest association merger in U.S. history. A nationally recognized authority on MLS policy and chair of the National Association of REALTORS® MLS Technology and Emerging Issues Advisory Board, Mowad’s leadership bridges governance, innovation and real-world market expertise.

Kayla Click — MetroTex Association of REALTORS®
Kayla Click emerged as a strong advocate for REALTORS® in 2025, serving as MetroTex executive-at-large and vice chair of orientation for TREPAC. Through fundraising efforts, public speaking and her work as an NAR C2EX ambassador, Click elevated professionalism while championing housing affordability and property rights across Texas.

Justin Landon — MetroTex Association of REALTORS®
As CEO, Justin Landon led one of the most significant organizational transformations in organized real estate history. Under his leadership, the MetroTex–CCAR merger expanded membership to nearly 40,000 professionals while ensuring operational continuity, enhanced regional influence and majority ownership of NTREIS.
Sumaiyya Raza — MetroTex Association of REALTORS®
MetroTex General Counsel Sumaiyya Raza played a pivotal role in navigating the legal, regulatory and governance complexities of the historic merger. During a year marked by antitrust scrutiny and policy change, her strategic counsel strengthened compliance, protected members and set a national standard for collaborative growth.

Lindsey Wallace — MetroTex Association of REALTORS®
As vice president of administration, Lindsey Wallace was instrumental in executing the merger on an operational level, aligning systems, teams and leadership to ensure uninterrupted service for tens of thousands of members. Her focus on collaboration, mentorship and member value helped translate consolidation into immediate benefits for REALTORS®.
