Help Strengthen MetroTex’s Voice in Your Community

Advocacy starts with relationships, and that’s exactly what the MetroTex Local Contact Program (LCP) is all about.

The LCP connects MetroTex members with local elected officials throughout our Advocacy Territorial Jurisdiction to build trusted, long-term relationships before important housing issues arise. Whether it’s a city council member, county commissioner, mayor, or other local official, having REALTOR® voices engaged in the conversation helps MetroTex advocate more effectively for private property rights, housing opportunities, and strong communities.

The program is designed to identify members who already have relationships with local officials—or who are interested in building them. Local Contacts serve as a bridge between MetroTex and community leaders by fostering communication, sharing insights on issues affecting the real estate industry, attending local meetings when appropriate, and strengthening MetroTex’s grassroots advocacy efforts.

Few professionals understand the impact of local policy better than REALTORS®. Every day, REALTORS® see firsthand how decisions about housing, transportation, infrastructure, land use, and economic development affect families, businesses, and neighborhoods. That real-world perspective makes REALTORS® valuable resources for local leaders as they consider policies that shape the future of North Texas communities.

No advocacy or political experience is required. Participation is flexible and can be tailored to your level of interest and availability, and MetroTex’s Government Affairs team will provide the guidance and resources you need every step of the way.

By completing the Local Contact Program survey, you’ll help MetroTex identify existing relationships, expand our local network, and strengthen our ability to advocate on behalf of REALTORS®, homeowners, and property owners across North Texas.

Strong relationships lead to stronger advocacy. Help MetroTex build both by joining the Local Contact Program today.
