MLK Day of Service 2024
“Everybody can be great…because anybody can serve. You don’t have to have a college degree to serve. You don’t have to make your subject and verb agree to serve. You only need a heart full of grace. A soul generated by love.”
Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.
Everyone knows Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. as a leader in the fight for civil rights in the 50’s and 60’s. He was a leader in the movement to end racial segregation in the United States with his famous “I Have a Dream” speech leading his advocacy efforts.
Dr. King was assassinated in 1968, but it wasn’t until 1983 that a holiday in his name was established, and it wasn’t until 1986 that Martin Luther King Day became observed in the United States. The holiday is observed on the third Monday of January, which is the 15th this year.
The MetroTex Association of REALTORS® encourages its members, as community builders, to be a part of the transformative solution, providing equal service to all. As an association, we are entering a new era with an invitation to all to be a part of “My MetroTex” to embrace the professionalism of our industry and our organization as a whole.
So please lead the fight for fair housing and help to build diverse, inclusive communities across North Texas. REALTORS® have proven to help in their communities and the real estate industry by volunteering across the country:
