How NTREIS Is Changing the MLS Experience for Brokers

NTREIS has announced a series of major MLS enhancements designed to give brokers more control, simplify compliance, and recognize high-quality listing data.

The updates, unveiled during the 2026 MetroTex Broker Summit, will roll out in phases beginning later this year and continue through 2027.

Here’s what MetroTex MLS Subscribers need to know.

More Control Over Listing Distribution

NTREIS is redesigning Listing Manager to give brokers greater flexibility in how listings are shared.

Soon, brokers will be able to choose from three listing distribution options:

Brokerage Exclusive
Listings remain visible only within the brokerage.

MLS Only
Listings are shared with MLS Subscribers but are not syndicated to IDX websites or third-party real estate portals.

MLS Plus
Listings receive full exposure through the MLS, IDX, and participating syndication partners.

These new options allow brokers to better align listing exposure with each seller’s marketing preferences while simplifying the listing distribution process.

Smarter Compliance Starts Before You Submit

NTREIS is also modernizing its compliance process by integrating guidance directly into listing input.

Rather than relying primarily on violations after submission, the updated system will help identify potential issues before a listing goes live.

Planned improvements include:

  • Prompts that flag possible compliance issues during listing entry
  • Streamlined required fields to simplify data entry
  • Updated MLS rules that better reflect today’s real estate marketplace

The goal is to educate users early, helping reduce errors while making compliance easier and more consistent.

In addition, NTREIS will take on a larger role in compliance administration to create greater consistency across the marketplace.

NTREIS Rewards Recognizes Data Quality

NTREIS also introduced NTREIS Rewards, a new incentive program that recognizes brokerages contributing high-quality listing data to the MLS.

Brokerages that meet established quality standards will become eligible for financial rewards, reinforcing the value of complete and accurate listing information.

MetroTex President and CEO Justin Landon also announced that MetroTex MLS will match the NTREIS Rewards 2025 Program dollar-for-dollar for MetroTex MLS Subscriber brokerages.

When the Changes Take Effect

Implementation will occur in phases:

  • Soft Launch: Fourth Quarter 2026
  • Full Rollout: 2027

Additional details and training opportunities will be shared as these enhancements become available.
