Stop Listing Fraud Before It Starts
Coming in August, MetroTex MLS subscribers can verify a seller’s identity and property ownership before taking the listing.
Fraudulent listings can cost agents and brokers hours of work while putting their clients, resources, and reputations at risk. A new MetroTex MLS benefit is designed to help stop them before they get that far.
Launching in August, Ownership Verification, powered by Property Shield, allows agents and brokers to confirm that a prospective seller is who they claim to be and has the right to sell the property.
By adding this step before taking a listing, you can identify potential fraud early instead of investing time, marketing, and resources into a listing that turns out to be fake or unauthorized.
How Ownership Verification Helps
Each report checks the seller’s identity and ownership information, helping you:
- Flag potential fraud before signing the listing
- Avoid wasting time and resources on unauthorized listings
- Protect your clients and your professional reputation
- Add another layer of confidence to your listing process
MetroTex is among the first MLSs in the country to make this resource available to its subscribers. Ownership Verification will be offered through MetroTex’s partnership with Property Shield on a pay-per-report basis.
See It in Action
Join Property Shield for a free, 30-minute live walkthrough to learn how Ownership Verification works and how it can be incorporated into your business.
Every broker who attends will receive five free credits, enough to run five complete Ownership Verification reports or share with agents in their brokerage so they can try the tool themselves.
