Find Buyer Connections with Reverse Prospecting
Your listing may already be reaching buyers through Matrix. Reverse Prospecting helps you connect with the agents working with those buyers, giving you an opportunity to share an update, highlight a property feature or start a conversation.
Here’s how to find those connections and make sense of the results.
How Reverse Prospecting Works
Reverse Prospecting shows participating agents whose clients have received your listing through Matrix. Agents must enable Reverse Prospecting for their contacts to appear, so the results won’t include everyone who has received your listing.
Client names and contact information remain private. You’ll see the agent’s information and a reference number that helps that agent identify the client. Your follow-up goes to the agent.
Find Your Reverse Prospecting Results
- In Matrix, go to My Matrix and select My Listings.
- Locate your active listing and check the box beside it.
- Click Reverse Prospect to view the results.
Understand What You’re Seeing
The results include information about the agent, the listing email and any interest the client has indicated in the property. Here’s what the main columns mean.
| Column | What It Tells You |
|---|---|
| Agent | The agent whose client received your listing. Click the name to send an email through Matrix. |
| Ref # | A unique reference number for the client. Include it in your message so the agent can identify which client you’re asking about. |
| Pre-Approved? | A check mark means the agent has marked the client as pre-approved in Matrix. |
| Envelope icon | Indicates you’ve already contacted the agent about this listing through Reverse Prospecting. |
| Count | The total number of listings sent to that client, including yours. |
| Date Sent | The date your listing was sent to the client. |
| Folder column | A heart means the client marked your listing as a Favorite. A lightbulb means they marked it as a Possibility. |
Start a Conversation
Use what you learn to make your follow-up relevant. You might share a price adjustment, pass along open house details or ask whether the agent’s client would like more information.
Keep your message brief and include the client’s reference number so the agent can quickly make the connection.
