New Data Center Resource for REALTORS®

As data center development accelerates across Texas, REALTORS® are hearing more questions from clients, neighbors, and local leaders about what these projects could mean for their communities.

To help members navigate those conversations, Texas REALTORS® created the Texas REALTORS® Data Centers Local Resource Guide. The guide provides practical information, key discussion points, and questions to consider when a data center is proposed in your area.

Texas REALTORS® developed the guide through months of research, stakeholder meetings, expert testimony, and collaboration between the Texas REALTORS® Public Policy Data Centers Subcommittee and Texas REALTORS® Public Policy staff. The resource examines community impacts, property rights, infrastructure, water resources, energy demand, and real estate considerations.

What’s Included

The guide includes:

  • Background information about data centers
  • Key questions and considerations for evaluating proposed projects
  • Context surrounding common community concerns
  • A feedback form for questions and comments
  • A printable, condensed “Questions to Ask” guide for meetings and community discussions

Use the guide when talking with clients, attending public meetings, or discussing proposed developments with local elected officials. It can help you better understand the issues and contribute to informed conversations in your community.
