Help Shape the Future of Texas Real Estate

If you’ve ever wanted a voice in the future of Texas real estate, now’s your chance.

The Texas Real Estate Commission (TREC) is accepting applications for several advisory committees that help shape broker responsibility, real estate education, and industry standards across the state. Serving on one of these committees is an opportunity to share your experience, provide valuable industry insight, and help influence decisions that affect real estate professionals throughout Texas.

Applications are open through August 14, 2026, with appointments beginning January 1, 2027.

Broker Responsibility Advisory Committee (BRAC)

The Broker Responsibility Advisory Committee (BRAC) advises TREC on issues related to broker responsibility and brokerage practices.

TREC is currently seeking:

  • One broker member
  • Two public members

To qualify for the broker position, applicants must hold an active Texas broker license and have at least five years of brokerage experience.

Education Standards and Advisory Committee (ESAC)

The Education Standards and Advisory Committee (ESAC) provides recommendations on qualifying and continuing education for Texas real estate professionals.

Current openings include:

  • Four real estate license holders
  • Two real estate instructors or school owners

License holder applicants must have at least five years of active real estate experience.

Texas Real Estate Inspector Committee (TREIC)

The Texas Real Estate Inspector Committee (TREIC) advises TREC on matters related to the inspection profession.

TREC is currently accepting applications for:

  • One public member
