Census Bureau Releases 2018 Homeownership & Rental Vacancy Rates
The US Census bureau just released its first quarter 2018 update on home ownership and rental vacancy rates. Both remain unchanged from 1Q2017 rates, with homeownership running at 64.2% nationally, and rental vacancy rates stable at 7%, also nationally. The rate of homeownership increased in the south, but was stable in the other regions. Rental vacancy rates were unchanged across all regions (North, South, East, West).
