MetroTex Puts Safety First While Meeting Business Needs
On March 2, Gov. Greg Abbott issued Executive Order GA-34, which, effective Wednesday, March 10, will lift all COVID-19 related restrictions on businesses and the state-wide mask mandate. However, the order affords organizations the option to still require masks.
Throughout the pandemic, we have seen firsthand how wearing a mask can help keep everyone safe. Our focus remains on protecting your safety and well-being, as well as that of our communities. As such, in line with CDC guidance, all association staff will still be required to wear a mask at our offices, and we will continue to provide the safety of our curbside services.
Additionally, given the current pace of COVID-19 vaccine roll-out and member comfort in participating tied to whether they are vaccinated, MetroTex concluded it’s not yet possible to guarantee the success of in-person events, and therefore we will continue to provide an array of robust virtual education and programs.
“Although we are hopeful that the governor’s announcement is the first step toward fully reopening the Texas economy, and a return to normal, our primary objective remains to keep our employees and members safe,” said Bill Jordan, 2021 MetroTex President. “As such, we will continue to follow CDC guidelines as it relates to mask mandates, social distancing, and cleaning protocols across all MetroTex facilities.”
We will be grateful for the day when we no longer have to wear masks, but we will not suspend these necessary public health measures until the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and local medical leaders deem it safe.
Thank you for your trust in MetroTex and for staying vigilant in protecting your own health as well as the health of family members, healthcare providers, and our communities by practicing proven tactics, including wearing a mask, frequent hand washing, maintaining social distancing, and staying home when sick.
