MetroTex Form Library Retiring January 2024

MetroTex Association of REALTORS® has a long history of providing forms that meet the specific needs of our members. There is ever increasing potential liability issues related to the forms provided by MetroTex Association of REALTORS®, especially if these forms go beyond the scope of state-mandated disclosures. Addressing liability concerns in real estate transactions is crucial to protect both real estate professionals and their clients.

With these concerns in mind, the MetroTex Board of Directors has decided to retire all forms in the MetroTex Association of REALTORS® library effective January 1, 2024. Forms included are Addendum for Property Located in Dallas Historic or Conservation District, Notice of Seller’s Termination of Contract, Notice to Seller Regarding Instruction to Exclude or Delay Listing From MLS, and lastly, the MetroTex Seller Disclosure Notice.

The City of Dallas Office of Historic Preservation has listed their requirements and contact information on their website which is contained below:

We are fortunate to have a full library of forms offered through Texas REALTORS®. Many of their forms address the same information as provided through MetroTex forms. Their team of attorneys ensure that all forms available to members are up to date and timely based on the needs of REALTORS® in Texas.

Any printed versions these forms need to be discarded and removed from any forms software you may use since they will no longer be appropriate for use after January 1, 2024.

If you see a need for changes or addition to any TREC or Texas REALTORS® forms, please feel free to send your recommendations to cathyf@dfwre.com.
