Texas REALTORS® Cancels In-Person 2021 Conference

As you know, the City of Houston has reported increasingly limited access to hospital resources due to the upward trend of COVID cases. Despite our desire to gather for our annual conference, the capacity to meet emergency needs of visitors is severely impaired, thereby placing attendees at substantial risk. Therefore, Texas REALTORS® has made the difficult decision to cancel in-person programming and events during the 2021 Shaping Texas conference.

In lieu of in-person programming, we will offer a variety of virtual educational sessions available to members at no cost. Stay tuned to access the new schedule of the Shaping Texas – Virtual Education Series, which will soon be posted at texasrealestate.com.

In addition to concerns in accessing healthcare, attendee experience and costs were also considered. The experience of an in-person meeting at this time would no doubt be compromised due to new safety measures, and Texas REALTORS® could incur substantial additional costs for a delayed cancellation.

Conference registration and hotel reservations will be canceled on your behalf. You will receive a full refund of any conference fees you have incurred, including registration fees that were previously charged for pre-scheduled virtual offerings. If you made a TREPAC contribution in connection with conference registration and would like to review options, please complete the TREPAC request form before noon on Monday, August 23. As a reminder, the TREPAC statewide auction is set for September 6-13. Learn more at TREPAC.com/auction.

A Board of Directors meeting will take place virtually as well. Directors will receive an email soon with additional details.

We are saddened by the turn of events and thank you for your patience and support. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact Texas REALTORS® staff.

Sincerely,
Marvin Jolly, Texas REALTORS® Chairman
Travis Kessler, Texas REALTORS® President/CEO
