The National Association of REALTORS® adopted the Code of Ethics in 1913. REALTORS® are real estate professionals who have chosen to join the National Association and abide by its strict Code of Ethics. REALTORS® are subject to disciplinary action and sanctions if they violate the duties imposed by the Code of Ethics. Existing REALTOR® members must complete 2.5 hours of ethics training, meeting specific learning objectives and criteria, within three-year cycles. The current Cycle 7 deadline is Dec. 31, 2024. The Legislative Management Committee (LMC) works with the central purpose to protect private property rights for REALTORS® and Property Owners. LMC is responsible for candidate endorsements, candidate contributions, opportunity races and issues mobilization. Those appointed to the committee have to meet eligibility requirements or hold specific positions within the Association. (This meeting is not open to the public.)
